Two new albums

Hydro-Static Beings is available now at most major suppliers. This is the 4th album from Wade in the Water and is a bit of a throw back in writing styles. The code-name originally for the concept was extra dark extra sweet!

Next, the debut album by Invisible Throw ended up being difficult to tell what it is. It is rock because the beats throughout carry that, but lyrically and instrumentation doesn’t completely match up with a category. It just fits the way it evolved. This album is available only on Bandcamp for now

PURE

New solo album now available entitled PURE

https://store.cdbaby.com/cd/michaelhampton2

Pure is inspired from the Gretsch hollowbody guitar and features a generous helping of synth tracks.  It’s a debut for me under my given name so it’s all very new for me.  Personally one of the things I always strive towards is developing an album that is easy to listen to while relaxing.  I think Pure accomplishes this in some way.  Hope you enjoy.

TFF & Wade in the Water Music Videos

it’s been a while since I’ve been on this site.. while doing some updates I realized you all haven’t seen our latest videos.  Well… there’s been a few since last we’ve spoke.  I hope you enjoy.  Wade in the Water has a show at the Red Stallion January 26th so we’ll see you there.

Chronologically we’ll go backwards..

First off is On Sun & Sky.  This is a video we worked on capturing diverse landscapes for so long.Actually visited a native American pow wow in Pennsylvania. The nature footage is as far out as the Colorado Rockies.. then the James river in Virginia with some graffiti at Percival’s Isle. Also, a number of animals during this video which is a rarity for our guerrilla style shooting.

Shortly before that we completed work on the Spider Bite video for Wade in the Water’s Blood from Stone album.  During the fall we get a lot of these ‘Writer Spider’ orb weavers.  They get pretty big and the colors are fascinating.. brightly painted with stripes.

Graffiti Pier in Philly is a kind of bizarre place where concrete artists are allowed free reign.  Even the fire in the opening sequence of the video was allowed to me by some friendlies blowing up spray can bottles.  I passed by some dirt bike riding and a more professional team shooting a music video near by… and of course people coming out to get a graffiti selfie. We’re all there for our own reasons and there is a sense of acknowledgement.  The graffiti on the street is from San Francisco offering a different style of artwork.

I set out to Death Valley from Philadelphia during April to May 2017 on a whim, Exploring the Death Valley felt like something I needed to do so I did it.  Along the ride I was able to meet up with a few friends. On the return trip I stayed over in Chicago to capture footage of the cathedrals and tall buildings.  Combined with footage of a cave I visited.  This song always came visually as a cathedral versus cave song.  While we build towards the sky something is built in the opposite direction. It’s representative of our dual natures in Earthly existence.  The song parallels this being about love versus the struggle to manipulate that which is natural.

There is continually a recurring theme in human history and that is the tendency of one to pay what is due for another.  The Ghost video was shot in the snow and alone while we fade in a few of our past performances.

Night’s Eyes by Wade in the Water is a journey through Philadelphia.  We get a number of great shots on Kelley Drive and in Chinatown.  The song is not about detective work, but the nature of some to pass by unbeknownst to others.  Through eye to eye contact we represent our intentions.

Finally, Shadows is a video exploring the shadow life. Shadows can indicate connections to that which is unacknowledged. During the push and pull of life forces can be at work to imbalance. Even after all our own shadow could represent our antithesis.

In 2018 we’re excitedly awaiting the production of Wade in the Water’s Adrift in the Crypt and putting the final touches on mastering The Formless Form’s 2nd album Grasping at Strands.  Not sure how many videos or new tracks we will get to this year as we’re switching gears a bit.  Any Given Alley and Place of Remembrance are two potential coming next videos though.

Cheers – Danny Newport – Official Music Video Release

We are very proud to have had the chance to work with Danny Newport on a music video for his song Cheers! No spoilers here you will have to watch it yourself, but you will notice some of the trends and themes we choose to focus on as a video production crew.  The song is about  frequenting your local watering hole and all that goes with that 🙂

Danny provides a hilarious performance. We had a great cast of extras and as always we appreciate The Grape Room, Manayunk for allowing us to film and their support of the local music scene!
